Dr. Jacob Boll, D.C.
When I started college at Northern Iowa University on a football scholarship, I had no idea that chiropractic care would be my career path. I started off studying Veterinary Medicine and dabbling in Physical Therapy.
However, while working out with my team, I injured my back lifting weights and couldn’t move without extreme pain. I thought that, at best, I would need risky surgery to correct the issue. Or, at worst, my football career would be over.
Our team trainer said that he would make a chiropractic appointment for me. Like so many people, I knew little about chiropractic care and was hesitant to try it. But the pain was so bad that I was willing to give it a shot.
After only one adjustment, I was 80% better. A few more visits had me back to normal, lifting weights and filling my role as an offensive lineman. I was amazed. The chiropractor used no drugs, no injections, and no surgery to fix my back. From then on, I knew I wanted to help people in the same way.
Personal Life and Educational Background
I grew up in a small Iowa farming town where the sense of community was ever-present. I’m forever grateful for my upbringing, as I feel it taught me the importance of helping my fellow humans in any way I can. It also instilled in me a work ethic, which was further cemented by my time playing football at Northern Iowa.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Movement and Exercise Science, I attended Palmer College of Chiropractic and graduated Cum Laude with my Doctorate of Chiropractic in 2016. I stayed in the lower 48, reveling in the fact that I was helping people get better without surgery or pills. But the thought of living in the great state of Alaska was always in the back of my mind.
So when given an opportunity to move here and continue to help people as a chiropractor, I didn’t hesitate. Now I’m proud to give my all to Alaskans, treating each patient like they’re the only patient.
I enjoy hunting, so Alaska is an excellent place for me. It is an incredibly humbling experience, and being out in nature is a great way to center yourself and to keep one’s ego in check. Hunting has taken me to more interesting and beautiful places than I ever imagined, and it allows me to interact with some of the most amazing wildlife in a more intimate way than most people ever experience.
I enjoy hunting and other outdoor activities with my fiancé Lynsie, working with my German Wirehaired Pointing dogs Rose, Roo, and Sage, and continually working towards being a better chiropractor to better serve the community.
