Disease in Anchorage, AK

What to Expect?

There are a variety of ways to treat and manage Degenerative Disc Disease. One of the most prominent of these is chiropractic care

Your First Visit

Symptoms of DDD vary based on the individual and can range from nothing at all to extreme pain. The most common symptoms also include:

  • Lower back and/or neck pain
  • Numbness or tingling in your arms or legs
  • Reduced flexibility of the back.

Your first visit to our office will set the foundation for your entire treatment plan going forward. It will begin with a medical history, a discussion of your symptoms, a comprehensive physical exam, and, if needed, a session of imaging (X-rays, MRI’s, etc…) to examine the damage.

From there, your chiropractor will make a diagnosis and develop a treatment plan.

Benefits of Regular Chiropractic Treatment for Degenerative Disc Disease

A normal treatment plan may involve a number of different types of therapies – therapies like chiropractic care, massage therapy, physical therapy, and, in some cases, our proprietary ABPP (Alaska Back Pain Protocol).

These therapies can be used either separately or together. When used together, they tend to amplify each other’s effects. In fact, the ABPP includes the other three, and is a comprehensive, holistic approach that is highly effective against DDD.

Of course, relieving your symptoms is only half the battle. You don’t want them to come back, either. Fortunately, the same methods used to relieve your symptoms (chiropractic care, massage therapy, etc…) can also be used to prevent their return. It’s a form of physical maintenance with benefits similar to regular exercise.
